When starting a blog there a few really important things you want to take your time on.
- The type of viewers you want to attract
- Layout of the blog
- Color Scheme
In my Webster Wednesdays series I will be showing you how to do all of this and more. First up is choosing a color scheme. Partially because that was my favorite part of creating my blog! There are so many colors out there to choose from, and you really want to be sure to pick ones that mesh well together. Now, if you buy your blog theme, chances are it already comes with a preset color scheme. This is totally fine! Especially if you really like the way it all looks together. But, if you are hiring someone to code your theme, or coding it yourself, you will want to do two things:
- Test the colors together
- Keep track of the ones you choose
- Make sure the colors are readable on all different platforms!
Most of us have our favorite colors (forest green here!) but that doesn’t necessarily mean that’s one of the colors you want representing your blog. Different colors read differently, and they give your readers different feelings.
The most important thing to remember is that this where you get to really have fun! Don’t stress out too much, and if you need a second eye to help you choose, there is nothing wrong with that!!
